Kazakh chocolate is the easiest souvenir to bring home: it is light, it packs flat, and it tastes of the place it comes from. Rahmet Box makes handmade chocolate in its own workshop in Almaty on Belgian couverture, with fillings and decorations drawn from Kazakh tradition: zhent pralines, mendiants, royal dates, strawberries in chocolate, nougat and assortments in gift boxes. If you are looking for souvenirs from Kazakhstan, a gift for a host family, or chocolate gift sets for partners and guests, this page lets you compare the formats and decide quickly. KAZAKH TRADITIONS is a line of chocolate that works as a souvenir and as a gift at the same time. It is at home in a personal greeting and in business communication, where neat presentation and a clear level matter. The collection suits people looking for handmade chocolate in Almaty who want the gift to say something about the country, not just about the brand.
Most souvenirs from Kazakhstan are either fragile or bulky. Chocolate is neither. A box of mendiants or zhent pralines fits into hand luggage, survives the flight in normal cabin temperature, and keeps for six months. The packaging carries Kazakh ornament and the sets are named with Kazakh words, so the gift reads as local even before it is opened. If you want one thing to take home from Almaty, a chocolate set does more work than a fridge magnet.
For a birthday, a thank-you or a visit to someone's home, a chocolate set removes the guesswork. It does not need a size, it does not need a taste profile agreed in advance, and it does not look like something bought at the airport. Smaller formats of four or five pieces work as an addition to flowers; sets of twelve or sixteen stand on their own.
For corporate gifting the collection is used when the same gift has to go to many people and still look considered. Sets are repeatable, the packaging can carry a logo, and the whole run is made in one batch so nothing differs from box to box. Minimum run for corporate orders is 50 pieces.
It is understood everywhere, it needs no explanation, and it is consumed rather than stored. Unlike most souvenirs it does not become clutter. Shelf life is six months; storage is 12–23 °C at up to 70% humidity, in a dry room without foreign odours. It travels well and it keeps well.
The line covers five formats. Each one answers a different question: how visible the gift should be, how personal it is, and how many of them you need.
Option | What it includes | Who it suits |
Basic format | chocolate pieces in a set | when you want a clear gift without extra detail |
Presentation | box and careful arrangement | when the gift is handed over in person |
Souvenir accent | set with a magnet or Kazakh ornament | when the gift should stay as a keepsake |
Repeatable run | identical contents across the batch | when you need many identical gifts |
Personalisation | logo or artwork printed on the chocolate | when the gift is tied to a company or an event |
Mendiants are flat chocolate discs scattered with nuts and dried fruit. They are the smallest way to give something that still looks made by hand. Four pieces read as a polite gesture, nine as a proper present, twelve as something noticeable. This is the format most travellers pick when they need several small souvenirs from one trip.
An assortment lets the person choose instead of receiving a single flavour. Zhent pralines are the ones worth pointing at: zhent is a traditional Kazakh sweet made of millet, butter and sugar, and here it sits inside chocolate with walnut. Hazelnut with wafer crumb and mixed assortments of nine or sixteen pieces round out the category.
A large bar of milk or dark chocolate is the least complicated gift in the line. It needs no explanation, it is easy to split, and the Kazakh ornament on the wrapper does the work of making it local. Good when the gift goes to someone you do not know well.
Freeze-dried strawberries and royal dates in chocolate are the bright end of the collection. Dates in particular are read as generous across the whole region, which makes them a safe choice for guests and for partners. Sets run from a small box to twelve or sixteen pieces.
Vanilla nougat with berries and nuts is the one non-chocolate texture in the line. It works as a contrast inside a larger gift, or on its own for someone who finds dark chocolate too sharp.
The same products are sold three ways: one box at a time in retail, as a repeatable run for a company, and as a branded run with a logo. The product does not change; what changes is the quantity, the lead time and how much is agreed in advance.
For a corporate order the minimum run is 50 pieces and production takes 3–7 working days once the artwork is approved. To get a quote in one message rather than five, say how many pieces you need, by which date, whether a logo goes on the chocolate, and where the order should be delivered.
Logos and artwork are applied with food colouring printed directly onto the chocolate. What needs to be settled before production starts: the source file for the logo, whether the print goes on the chocolate or on the packaging, the number of colours, and the approval deadline. Everything else follows from those four answers.
Format | Lead time | Specifics | When to choose it |
Retail | in stock or on request | a single chosen item | one gift or a few sets |
Company run | 3–7 working days | one style, repeatable | the same gift for everyone |
Branded run | 3–7 working days after approval | logo or artwork on the chocolate | the gift is tied to a brand or an event |
Souvenir format | in stock or on request | magnet or Kazakh ornament | a keepsake to take home |
